In his orange robes and a turban, Dada Nabhaniilananda is not your run of 
the mill pop star. In fact he's not a pop star at all - he's a monk and a 
yogi who writes and sings what he likes to call 'spiritual eco-folk' - 
reminiscent of Simon & Garfunkel or Cat Stevens.
His concerts are similarly unusual - he blends storytelling, humour, 
kiirtan, spiritual meditation, and a multimedia show of spectacular images, 
with songs that never fail to touch peoples' hearts and leave them feeling 
uplifted.

Dada writes songs about spiritual experiences, legends of different 
cultures, or ecological and human rights issues, which is why he has been 
invited to perform all over the world at ecological protests and alternative 
festivals, including the Rio Earth Summit in 1992 where he was a featured 
performer and played with Paul Winter.

He has produced 7 albums, and recorded with prominent musicians including 
Harry Williamson (who worked with Sting and members of Genesis and Hawkwind) 
and David Allen (a founding member of Soft Machine and Gong).

He is not only a musician but a meditation and yoga teacher and a writer, 
having just published his first book - Close Your Eyes & Open Your Mind - An 
Introduction to Spiritual Meditation. Dada has been practicing meditation 
for nearly 30 years and became a monk in 1979.

On this US tour he will appear in venues in New York City, Vermont, 
Massachusetts, Oregon and California between October and November 2006...
