Dear Feet of the Sky, Friends and Family, and Beyond,

I am writing to you in the midst of many difficult feelings, 
predominantly fear. I do not want to pass on fear, but knowledge and 
hope.
I know that if we are silent in these times we may loose much and have 
much more to fear.

On October 17th, our Congress, under President Bush, signed the 
Military Commissions Act.
This act allows the Bush Administration to name anyone in the world 
(including us in the US) an enemy combatant.
To subsequently imprison them without writ of Habeas Corpus (Which 
means evidence does not have to be shown),
and to torture them, and Bush will not be held accountable.

I feel that I must shake loose from the quiet beauty of my life here in 
the hills, and make some noise.
I have never felt more strongly that I must do something to try to 
influence the current course of events.
It is my hope that by connecting with you we may make a larger web of 
connections that can reach out with creativity, grace and power.
Those of you who helped create the Peaceable Planet Puppet Parade know 
what magic is possible. (By the way, we are definitely on for Spring 
2007)

I wanted to let you know that I have joined the WORLD CAN'T WAIT UNTIL 
2008 - DRIVE OUT THE BUSH REGIME organization.
We had a very successful national and international protest on Oct 5th 
(some of us were in Noho with the Baby Earth!) and now they are 
encouraging TEACH-INS AND  MORE PROTESTS.

Their main objective is to have PRESIDENT BUSH IMPEACHED AS SOON AS 
POSSIBLE. (See extensive info at WWW.WORLDCANTWAIT.ORG

SUNDAY NOVEMBER 5TH, FROM 4-5:30
AT THE MEDIA EDUCATION FOUNDATION
in NORTHAMPTON, on Masonic St. Behind the WOODSTAR CAFE.
We will be showing a DVD and holding a discussion about what we can do, 
how we can it, and when.
(We are also looking for a public place where we can hold regular Teach 
ins. Have any ideas?)

JOIN ME IN PROTEST ON VOTING DAY
NOVEMBER 7TH 4-6 pm
in downtown Northampton at the 4 way lights.
Please bring signs, costumes (Many across the country are wearing 
orange jump suits and hoods in protest of torture) & your voice!


As you know, Bush's actions so far and his plans for the future have 
very grave consequences:

Continuing and escalating WAR (Loss of Lives, homes, & hope)
IMPRISONMENT of anyone without stated reasons or representation (This 
has been considered illegal since the 1500's when Habeaus Corpus was 
signed)
Continued DEGRADATION OF THE ENVIRONMENT and a blind eye to GLOBAL 
WARMING
LOSS OF WOMEN'S RIGHTS TO THEIR OWN BODIES
PERSECUTION & OPPRESSION OF GAYS, HISPANICS, BLACKS, ARABS, and all 
other peoples of color and religion.
Potential use of NUCLEAR WEAPONS on human populations!

It has been proven that MASSIVE PEACEFUL DEMONSTRATIONS can change 
policy.
It is my hope, and the WCW's, that we can create a strong network of as 
many people as possible,
who would be prepared to step onto the streets and make their voices 
known to the congress and the current administration that we
DISAGREE WITH THE WAY WE ARE BEING GOVERNED. IT IS OUR COUNTRY!
