The Jewel in the Fold: Advanced Contact Improviation
With Martin Keogh
November 13 (Thursday evening) – November 18 (Sunday afternoon)
http://www.earthdance.net/programs/jewel08.htm
Early Registration: $25 off if registered by October 1

In this intensive workshop we will seek the range of possibilities and
veiled power inherent in the creases of the joints as we investigate an
instinctual, reflexive style of contact improvisation. With games, some
sweat, and the unique physicality of the contact body we will savor and rock
the boundaries between states of allowing and mindful intention.

Martin Keogh has taught and performed contact improvisation for over
twenty-eight years. For his contribution to the development of the form he
is a Fulbright Senior Specialist and listed in Who's Who in the World.
Martin spent time traveling to monasteries in Japan and Korea and was the
director of the Empty Gate Zen Center in Berkeley before discovering the
world of dance. He has co-facilitated teacher's conferences on four
continents and is the author of The Art of Waiting and As Much Time as it
Takes . More info at: www.martinkeogh.com <http://www.martinkeogh.com/>

Gravity Tastes Like Honey: Contact Improvisation Basics
With Jeff Bliss
November 13 (Thursday evening) - November 16 (Sunday afternoon)
http://earthdance.net/programs/gravity08.htm
Early Registration: $25 off if registered by October 1

So if we evolved from the primates and have 360 degrees of possibility in
our bodies, why are we living in a world of using only 120 degrees of it?
Come to this workshop and open that up. This is an opportunity to expand our
range of confidence as movers, to explore our play with gravity in our own
bodies and with others, and to get rigorous about our exploration of
movement and contact improvisation. This workshop is an opportunity for
those new to contact to learn the form and for more experienced dancers to
re-explore fundamental questions.

Jeff Bliss continues his exploration of ongoing questions about contact
improvisation wherever he can. He has learned a lot from his two kids
recently and seems to remember learning a lot while working with Group 6
(Nancy Stark Smith, Ray Chung, Chris Aiken, Julie Carr, and Peter Bingham)
